
Shed the Old. Step Into the Fire — With Intention.
Today is the final day of the Year of the Snake.
The snake symbolizes shedding.
Letting go.
Releasing.
Moving out of old skin.
For many of us…
This past year has carried weight.
Appointments.
Uncertainty.
Healing.
Watching someone we love fight.
Or committing to never walk that path again.
The transition into the Year of the Fire Horse on Tuesday feels powerful.
Fire Horse energy is movement.
Strength.
Forward momentum.
Clear direction.
And I don’t want to enter it foggy.
I want to enter it clear.
That’s why I’ll be doing a 72-hour fast beginning Tuesday 2/17.
Not as a cure.
Not as a punishment.
Not as something extreme.
But as a reset.
Because when fasting is done thoughtfully and safely…
• The body shifts into cellular cleanup mode — supporting the natural recycling process known as autophagy
• Insulin levels drop — giving your system a break from constant metabolic demand
• Digestive workload decreases — freeing up energy for repair and restoration
• Mental clarity often increases — helping intentions and decisions feel sharper
Autophagy, in particular, has been studied for its role in cellular renewal — essentially the body clearing out damaged components and regenerating healthier ones.
For a community focused on prevention, healing, and resilience…
That matters.
But let me be very clear.
A 72-hour fast is a stressor.
It must be prepared for.
It is not where beginners start.
And if you are on blood pressure medication or managing a medical condition — you must speak with your provider first.
You can absolutely join us without fasting 72 hours.
You might:
• Start with 12 hours
• Try 16, 18, 20 or even 24 hours
• Or just come for the tips and start to practice a gentle intermittent fast
The point is intentionality.
